Day One: Chattanooga, Tennessee

Well, as day one comes to a close, I have to say that this adventure has begun better than imagined.

One thing I wanted to do, that should be manditory for any long trip, is to stop every 4-5 hours and do something fun and enjoy the area we are in. So, on our way through georgia, we found a little piece of the Chattahooche national park near I-75 and went for a bike ride!

This was a photo from the picnic area overlooking the famous Chattahooche River. We rode/walked our bikes along the river on a beautiful scenic trail that snaked up and down hills.

Having not ridden on hills in quite some time, we were both a bit winded right off the bat. But it gave us a great opportunity to enjoy the scenery. After that, we sat down for a quick lunch where we met some travelers from Britain, who just so happened to be the only non-Hispanic/Hindu people in sight. Funny the type of people you can find at a park in Georgia!

So, we may have started off a little later than planned, but everything works out when you take your time. We decided not to rush and drive to Nashville, instead we found a great campground south of Chattanooga. A place called Ringgold...Ringgold....sounds funny after you say it 30 times straight.

Here is our little campfire to roast a quick s'more before hitting the sack. p.s. Don't try to set up a tent in the dark.. It ends up looking more like a plastic bag caught in a gust of wind.

Goodnight all-
Adam
